We call on the UK Government to immediately rule out digital ID cards.
Digital ID schemes threaten our privacy, our freedoms, and our way of life. They open the door to more mass surveillance and more state control that have no place in a free society.
ID cards were scrapped in 2010 because the public rejected them — and we reject them again today. If digital ID cards are introduced, we say clearly: we will not comply.
We urge the Government to respect the rights of this island's nations and make a binding commitment: no national ID system, no digital ID cards, now or ever.
